Code of Conduct

1. What we expect

People with different backgrounds and levels of experience take part in Addidex. Help others understand your work and make room for questions.

• Be specific: Explain your methods, code, machine limits and materials rather than giving a sales pitch.
• Share what happened: Include failures and limitations, what you learned and what you would change.
• Be honest: Support your claims with evidence and be clear about what you do not know.

2. Expected Behaviour

All participants, speakers, partners, exhibitors, and community contributors are expected to:

• Treat everyone with empathy, professionalism, and respect regardless of background, gender, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, race, or religion.
• Focus on constructive technical critique and knowledge sharing.
• Respect the intellectual property, research boundaries, and privacy of fellow practitioners.
• Comply with venue safety guidelines, especially when operating or observing live robotic fabrication equipment.

3. Unacceptable Behaviour

We do not tolerate harassment, intimidation, or exclusionary behaviour in any form, including:

• Offensive, discriminatory, or degrading comments and jokes.
• Unwelcome sexual attention, advances, or inappropriate physical contact.
• Deliberate disruption of talks, workshop sessions, live demonstrations, or community threads.
• Aggressive sales pitches or deceptive commercial promotion where objective technical discussion is expected.

4. Reporting & Incident Handling

If you experience or witness unacceptable behaviour, or have any other concerns, please contact the Addidex organisers immediately:

Organisers reserve the right to take appropriate action, including issuing warnings, immediate expulsion from the event or platform without refund, and temporary or permanent bans from future Addidex initiatives.
